As a retired people-pleaser, I definitely had to learn this the hard way!
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that you can love people without giving them the same level of access to your life. Some friendships are for a season, some are for a specific purpose, some are for the fun moments, and a precious few are safe enough to hold the deepest parts of you.
I’m so thankful to have some of the best friends in my life and in my corner, but I definitely had to kiss a few frogs and learn a few lessons along the way to get here 😂
I think there’s so much freedom in learning to love people where they are, appreciate what a friendship is, and stop forcing it to be something it’s not

Exactly. A lot of people are self absorbed and have very lil to offer so I’m okay on that type of friendship.
