If you don’t have your own goals, it’s easy to spend your life helping someone else achieve theirs.

I think that’s why it’s so important to dream, to try new things and to discover what truly makes you happy.

You don’t need to have your whole future figured out. Just make sure the life you’re building is the one you really want. 🤍

📸 Thank you, Jan @jan_de_vries_photography, for these beautiful photos!

I choose 2 yr old Maryam & every Palestinian child over Zionist Jewish feelings, Zionist Jewish Safety & over Zionist Jewish State.

Israel does not have a right to exist.
Zionism does not have a right to exist.
Jewish Supremacy does not have a right to exist.
Jews don’t have a right to self-determination to LAND.
Jews are NOT a race, nationality or ethnicity. Just a religious group like Christians and Muslims.

The noodles were different, but this time her reaction was too.

Hannah ordered ramen at a new restaurant, expecting the curly noodles she’s familiar with. When it came out they were straight noodles that looked like spaghetti.

Not long ago that difference would have been enough for her not to eat it, but this time she acknowledged that it looked different, pointed out the differences, and worked through her discomfort to try it.

I can’t tell you how many times she’s ordered something familiar with every intention of eating it, only for an unexpected difference to make it feel wrong. A different noodle shape or a different color broth might seem insignificant to someone else, but for her it would mean going without the meal entirely.

This is why “I’m sure you can find something she can eat on the menu” isn’t always that simple with ARFID. Finding something familiar on the menu doesn’t mean it will arrive looking or feeling familiar to her.

It’s also why “she’ll eat when she’s hungry” is so frustrating to hear. We’ve watched her skip countless meals even when she was hungry because the food in front of her didn’t feel safe.

This time she noticed the differences, talked through what felt uncomfortable, and still gave it a try. Not every meal will look like this, but moments like these show how far she’s come and that’s what matters.
