刺し子を始める理由は、人それぞれ。

岩手県大槌町から始まったサシコギャルズ。

今では少しずつ、その輪が大槌の外にも広がっています。

震災をきっかけにしたわけでも、特別な理由があったわけでもない。

ただ刺し子が好きで、ずっと針を動かしてきた人がいる。

好きだからこそ、続けてこられた。
そして、続けてきたからこそ見えてくる、刺し子の奥深さがある。

一針一針はとてもシンプルなのに、知れば知るほど、新しい発見がある。

その楽しさに惹かれ、少しずつ仲間も増えてきました。

始まりも、年齢も、暮らす場所も違う。
それぞれが重ねてきた時間が、刺し子を通じてつながっていく。

人と時を紡いでいく。

刺し子を始めるのに、特別な理由はいらない。
針と糸があれば、誰もが始められる。

刺し子を、もっとみんなのものへ。

その想いから、私たちは新しい刺し子キットをつくりました。

Everyone has their own reason for discovering sashiko.

SASHIKO GALS began in Otsuchi, Iwate, Japan.

Today, that circle is gradually growing beyond Otsuchi.

Some didn’t begin because of the earthquake or any particular life event.

They simply loved sashiko and kept stitching, year after year.

Their love for sashiko is what kept them going.
And through all those years of stitching, they’ve discovered just how much depth there is to this craft.

Each stitch is simple, yet the more you learn, the more there is to discover.

Drawn together by that joy, more people have gradually joined the community.

Different beginnings, different ages, different places.
The time each person has lived and the experiences they’ve gathered become connected through sashiko.

Weaving people and time together.

You don’t need a special reason to begin.
With just a needle and thread, anyone can start.

Sashiko, for everyone.

With this belief, we’ve created a new sashiko kit.
