America’s 10 favorite dogs, and the one thing to watch in each.

The AKC just ranked 2025’s most popular breeds, with the French Bulldog at 1 again. So we paired every breed on the list with the health risk it’s best known for, and the number behind it.

A few that surprise people:
- About 1 in 4 Labradors carry a gene linked to hunger. It explains a lot.
- Frenchies have about 30 times the usual odds of breathing trouble.
- About 1 in 5 German Shepherd hip X-rays sent for screening show dysplasia.

A breed risk is a list of what to watch for. The earlier someone spots the small changes, the more options your dog has.

That’s the job of a vet who knows your dog’s breed and history. Everfur is the online vet that already knows your dog. Unlimited free vet visits. Plus $50 off your first prescription. Just comment “Vet”

Find your dog on the list. What did we miss?
