Southern California is seeing renewed immigration enforcement activity, with videos circulating on social media showing federal agents conducting arrests across the region.
Recent reports have also revealed a possible 45-day immigration enforcement campaign known as “Operation Safe California,” reportedly involving hundreds of ICE agents deployed throughout Southern California.
Community organizations and residents have been documenting reported ICE activity, sharing videos, warning others, and raising awareness about arrests taking place in their neighborhoods.
The renewed enforcement activity also raises concerns ahead of Long Beach’s upcoming Día de los Muertos Festival on November 1 at Rainbow Lagoon.
Last year, the city canceled its Día de los Muertos festivities over fears surrounding immigration enforcement. Now, with the celebration returning and ICE activity continuing across Southern California, questions about community safety are resurfacing.
Should Long Beach move forward with this year’s celebration, or are the same concerns that led to last year’s cancellation still present?

Good doing their jobs. They wouldn't have to if the borders weren't opened up by past administrations!
