Thank you for sharing. The 11% sales tax, caused by the passing of Measure ER, was a County sales tax measure. It passed by a very small number of votes, which is the result of very low voter turnout. Countywide, fewer than 20,000 votes were needed to defeat it, which is lower than the number of people who failed to vote in Burbank. We have urged the City Clerk to focus on GOTV efforts to combat the constant onslaught of new taxes. This will keep happening until voters turn out and say no.

It’s not easy. Everyone wants to feel safe. Support the police. Then the police supports FLOCK. My issue, personal to me, is watching 5th and 6th rate photocopies of AOC and Bernie speak the lines, make the “promises” based on DSA playbooks. Only to find the same ones going after other candidates like school children. I adore both AOC and Bernie. Sadly, I would hope the candidates would channel them more, look for social media likes less.

I genuinely want the Council to “defund” police solely for districts with DSA council people. Let’s do a little experiment, get some popcorn, and see what happens…
