BELIEVE THEM WHEN THEY TELL YOU WHO THEY ARE.

Political slogans are easy. Promises are easy. But what do the organizations behind the candidates actually stand for?

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) have published positions on housing, policing, public ownership, and the role of government that deserve public scrutiny and an honest conversation.

Don't rely on campaign slogans, social media sound bites, or someone else's interpretation. Read their own words. Look at their policy goals. Ask questions.

Know what you're supporting before you support it.

Because when it comes to the future of our city, the details matter. taken in Burbank, California by @davidforburbank

I am thrilled to receive the endorsement of Burbank City Councilmember Chris Rizzotti.

I am deeply humbled by the trust and support of the men and women who keep our city running and keep our community safe — including members of our Police, Fire, and City employees.

I will never take that trust for granted.
Keeping Burbank safe, supporting our first responders, and ensuring our city employees have the resources they need will always be a priority.

Thank you, Chris, for your endorsement and your continued commitment to Burbank. 💙 by @davidforburbank

BURBANK, THIS ELECTION MATTERS.

This November, voters aren’t just choosing who will sit on Burbank’s City Council. We’re choosing what direction our city takes for years to come.

And there’s a question every voter deserves to ask:

Who is really behind the candidates asking for your vote?

The Democratic Socialists of America–Los Angeles has officially endorsed candidates for Burbank City Council and DSA-LA makes no secret that its endorsements come with organized resources, time, volunteers, and a broader political agenda.

That deserves scrutiny.

What policies are these candidates willing to support?
How much influence will outside organizations have over City Hall?
Will decisions be made by Burbank residents or by political organizations with agendas that extend far beyond our city?

This isn’t about labels. It’s about transparency, accountability, and local control.

Burbank has its own challenges. We should be electing leaders who answer to Burbank voters first.

Before you cast your ballot, look beyond the campaign slogans and endorsements.

Know who is supporting the candidates. Know what they stand for. And know who may be influencing the policies they bring to City Hall.

This election is too important to leave those questions unanswered.

Vice Mayor Zizette Mullins is one of the hardest-working public servants ever to serve on the dais. With decades of experience leading
in the community, I am truly honored to have earned her endorsement and her trust.

It's almost as if outside influences want to change Burbank.

Would the DSA candidates like to comment? @mayornikkiperez @nolanforburbank @vangorderforburbank taken in Burbank, California by @davidforburbank

There are serious concerns about the role of DSA-LA in local elections, the policies it supports, and reports of efforts to pressure local businesses over their participation in political events.

Lisa challenged candidates and elected officials to take a clear stand against doxing, intimidation, and calls to boycott businesses simply for providing space to candidates or speakers.

The message is clear: Burbank residents deserve transparency, open debate, and the freedom to participate in local politics without fear of retaliation.

I’m honored to announce Burbank Firefighters Local 778 have endorsed our campaign for Burbank City Council!👨‍🚒

This Sunday kicks off Fire Prevention Week, October 4–10, making this endorsement especially meaningful.

After the devastating fires we’ve seen across our region, fire safety and wildfire preparedness have never been more important.
Burbank is fortunate to have an incredible Fire Department and dedicated first responders who work every day to protect our families, homes, and community.

I’m honored to have their support.

Thank you to our Burbank Firefighters and First Responders for your service, your sacrifice, and your trust. 🚒

Running for office isn’t easy and neither is putting yourself out there in the public arena.

David Donahue spoke about the realities of running for office: criticism comes with the territory, and having a thick skin matters.

His message was simple: Don’t get distracted by the noise. Stay focused on the goal.

Win the election. Win the debate. Earn the endorsements. Deliver for the people you’re asking to represent.

Online attacks and criticism may be loud, but they don’t define the outcome. What matters is staying focused, showing up, and continuing to move forward.

For anyone thinking about running for office someday: keep your focus on the prize, and don’t let the noise become the story.
