New Order performed "Blue Monday" live at Finsbury Park in London on June 9, 2002.

On June 9, 2002, New Order delivered a legendary headline performance at Finsbury Park in London. Although heavy downpours had turned the festival grounds into a muddy quagmire throughout the day, the skies cleared by the time the band took the stage.

Moving through a massive sixteen-song setlist bridging their own synth-pop anthems with classic Joy Division tracks, they delivered an unforgettable live rendition of "Blue Monday."

Before closing out the night, frontman Bernard Sumner apologized to the soaking wet audience for the terrible weather, thanking them for sticking through the elements before launching into their final songs.

Before Heavy Metal there was Metal Hurlant.

Launched in Paris in 1975 by Moebius, Philippe Druillet, Jean-Pierre Dionnet and Bernard Farkas, this magazine changed what comics and science fiction could look like. Today it lives on and its covers still bring together legends and new voices of French and international illustration.

Here are some of my favorites. Covers by:

# 1 — Ugo Bienvenu @ugobienvenu
# 2 — Philippe Druillet @philippe_druillet
# 4 — Jean-Michel Nicollet @jm_nicollet_officiel
# 5 — Enki Bilal @enkibilal_officiel
# 10 — Darius "BakaArts" @bakaarts
# 15 — Olivier Vatine @oliviervatine
# 16 — Aurélien Maury @aurelien_maury
# 18 bis — Jorg De Vos @jorg_de_vos
# 19 — Emem @emem_art_

Thanks to the @metal_hurlant_officiel team for sharing these 🖤

Save this for your next dose of inspiration!
