Last week we had the opportunity to speak with Award Winning Parkinson’s Advocate Bryce Perry on our Powerful People Podcast. We loved having such a candid and informative conversation about Bryce’s experiences and motivation.

💯💯💯 I explain to my coworker fellow nurses who are in medical field how much I prepare myself to be strong in appearance when I arrive to work on time and accept my assignment and do all I can do to help my patients and by the end of shift I'm wiped out but still think about my last exercise of the day before I drive off because my hardest time o is the afternoon and night but I'm grateful and thankful I get a good night sleep for the most part with out medicine thank you Bryce Perry for everything you do for our community and I understand what you go through to put on a meaningful presentation of what really goes on in our world🙏🙏🙏 Thank you Carmen too, for giving good advice for other caretakers I do this alone, but someday when my family needs to help me I will encourage them to view your platform because there's a lot to learn from all you two do 🙏🙏🙏 thank you again

Never a truer word was spoken. If I to meet up for lunch or coffee or a walk, I then figure out the optimal pill-taking schedule and probably take a preparatory nap. As a result you probably get to see the version of me that seems really well. Occasionally it doesn’t quite work out as planned and then you get a glimpse of Parky me! Having Parkinson’s is definitely a case of smoke and mirrors. Unfortunately that doesn’t do us any favours when it comes to funding for research or care because we present ourselves as super-fit people who play table tennis, do taichi and just need to take a few extra vitamins. If only it was so easy. Every day IS a battle.

So accurate! But we don’t want pity! We need flexibility and time.

So many people don't understand how much planning and thought and effort has to into planning a day where you need to accomplish like 2 tasks, like clean out dishwasher, have lunch with a friend. That can be an exhausting day. Thank you sharing such an important message.
