Is there any worse feeling than getting rejected — or ghosted — after a months-long hiring process? Job rejections can make you want to respond negatively, or not at all. But staying classy is still the right move.
Here's why and how to follow up, from URL Media's recruitment team, Leonor Ayala Polley (@leonordayala) and Sonali Kohli (@sonalimakes).
➡️ Remember that it's probably not about you. Companies may be looking for a very specific blend of experience, or there may be internal barriers to moving quickly.
➡️ Send a thank you note: even if you don't think it's deserved. You never know who is going to see it and remember you in a positive light.
➡️ Ask for feedback: You often won't get it, but sometimes hiring managers or recruiters will provide instructive and helpful advice for your search.
