October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month — and guns make domestic violence much more deadly. When an abuser has access to a gun, a woman is 5 times more likely to be killed.

When we combine strong gun laws that restrict abusers’ access to guns with robust funding for victims’ support services, we can build safer communities and save lives.

The Coalition is committed to centering domestic violence survivors in our gun violence prevention work. Gun violence prevention is domestic violence prevention — and we can’t end domestic violence without addressing the deadly role of guns.

➡️ Swipe to learn more about the intersection of guns and domestic violence.

💜 If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, call the confidential National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233). For Massachusetts-based resources, visit www.janedoe.org
