Meet McLean Anderson, an Economics and Political Science major at the University of Utah who spent the summer researching spatial dust estimates using low-cost sensors in Northern Utah through the HAPPIEST program, part of the Summer Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR).
With a passion for understanding how complex systems impact everyday people, McLean stepped outside his academic comfort zone to develop new skills in Python, data analysis and critical thinking.
Despite having little prior experience in chemical engineering or meteorology, McLean embraced the challenge and discovered a passion for learning across disciplines.
💬 “This experience reminded me of the joy I feel jumping headfirst into learning new skills.”
