If you’re traveling before your escrow closes, sort out your signing before you get on the plane.
Here’s what people don’t realize: not every signature can be handled from anywhere. Some documents have to be notarized in a specific way when you’re outside the country, and the appointment to do it can take weeks. That timeline is not something your escrow officer can speed up once you’re already abroad.
So before you book anything, ask your agent and escrow what still needs your signature and when. Ten minutes of asking beats a month of waiting.
