There’s just something about being on an island that makes you slow down and settle into the moment. Our stay at @pacificsands in Tofino gave us space to breathe, be together, and enjoy our family without always thinking about what’s next. The ocean was beautiful but what I’ll hold onto most is how it felt to have nowhere to rush to and everyone I love right there ❤️

Part 5 of Nobody Teaches Us How to Build a Life With Another Person ❤️ I used to think finding the right person meant finding someone who would complete me. But the older I get, the more I realize that healthy love isn’t about becoming one person—it’s about creating a life where both people still have the space to be themselves. You should be able to grow, change, dream bigger and become a new version of yourself without worrying that your partner will love you less. The right person doesn’t fill in what’s missing. They make you feel safe enough to keep becoming more of who you already are. Because real love should bring you closer to yourself, not further away ❤️
One bad moment only becomes a bad day when you keep carrying it into every moment that follows. Pause, feel what you need to feel, then remind yourself: this moment is over, but my day is not. Reset your thoughts, change your surroundings, take a deep breath, and give the next moment a fair chance to be different. Protecting your peace doesn’t mean pretending nothing happened. It simply means refusing to let one difficult moment take more from you than it already has. Save this for the next time one bad moment tries to steal an entire day. 🤍
This summer gave me more than beautiful memories. It gave me new perspectives, unexpected lessons and so many opportunities to grow. I’m learning that growth doesn’t always look like a big transformation. Sometimes, it’s setting a boundary, trying again, seeing the world with fresh eyes or simply choosing not to abandon yourself when life feels uncertain. I may not have everything figured out, but I’m leaving this season with more clarity, gratitude and trust in where I’m going.
