This is B4669, a Butterick pattern for what they call a "laced corset with peplum variations," but I would call a Renaissance-inspired bodice. The front lacing makes it easy to put on, and I found the pattern to be quite easy to follow. I used the upholstery weight cotton sateen at Fabricland for the lining of my bodice, a bargain centre upholstery fabric for the outer layer, Dritz two-sided eyelets (grommets), and heavy duty plenum cable ties for the boning.

I definitely recommend making a mockup or using your lining as a mockup, because you may need to adjust the front curve depending on how large- or small-busted you are. I am very comfortable drafting my own and re-drafting other patterns, so I changed the armscye and bust curve to suit me better. 🪡 I would make this pattern again, but I would make the armscye cut slightly further into the bust right in the area around the bust seam. I found that while wearing this bodice and moving my arms about, the boning in that seam repeatedly stabbed me in the armpit and became rather painful by the end of a full day of wear.

If you've never worn a bodice like this, you will probably be pleasantly surprised at two things. 1) You can probably tighten it more than you think you'll be able to and it will remain comfortable, and; 2) this is a style that REALLY supports and enhances the girls!
