5 hours agoBut I have to pay/tip before I receive my order so how do I know if you went above and beyond if I haven't even received my order?
16 hours agoThank you!!! I’ve been a bartender & waitress in my past and the last 28 yrs a flight attendant and we don’t get tips! I’ve gone above and beyond countless times and still nothing. I don’t expect any tips and I find it irritating that the tipping option is everywhere nowadays-it’s getting out of hand.
a day agoWat about the looks I get from the staff and the guard (sometimes) when I don’t tip even on take out foods 😢
2 days agoDefinitely a choice and always like to leave a little something extra for yall ❤️
2 days agoThe tipping culture only went sideways in the lockdown. Everyone was happy to tip the workers “ risking their life” to serve coffee and takeout food in plastic containers for a year. 🙄 when it ended - those tips should have too. But they didn’t. And now everyone is calling it “ tipping culture” and naming that as the issue. It’s not. It’s the guilt - order a sandwich- pay + tip me now then I’ll make it. Don’t tip me? Crappy sandwich. Tipping Cabs and Servers who take care of you for an hour or two is not the issue. Am I wrong?
2 days agoHonestly I think tipping is hurting us as a society because it makes going out even more expensive to people who are already dealing with a low income and high living costs. So what happens is, more and more people are putting a cross on going out because of the prices and tip anticipation. Having to think about how you have to tip 15% on a 30$ meal has stopped me from going out more than once a month. If we got rid of tip culture and held companies accountable for paying their workers living wages, a lot more people would have the means to go to the restaurant or order take out!! So it would help the businesses too and not just the consumers. Tip culture really only benefits the ultra rich who exploit both workers and consumers. It should definitely be a choice and at the consumer’s discretion (who might be paid even less in their own job than a waiter is)
2 days agoEspecially if you pay your workers a living wage. It helps that a lot of social benefits are taken care of by the government- including healthcare. Tipping became popular in the US because that is how they paid people after slavery instead of paying workers properly!!
