I designed this years @skyarts awards statuette.

I literally punched the air when I was asked to do this. I’ve wanted to do something like this for so long and it was such an honour to be asked!

My concept was paying it forward. It’s a Russian doll design! The winner gets the first one. Then inside there are two more. One that you give away as a thank you and another for an up and coming artist to acknowledge them and encourage them to keep going.

I feel like it’s harder than ever these days to keep functioning as an artist. The @skyarts awards acknowledges this and reminds us of the joy in what we do and that it’s all worth it! It was so great to see all different forms of art and people at different stages of their creative journey being recognised.

What a pleasure to be a part of it!

A 25-year-old man in Kolhapur took his 23-year-old girlfriend to Naikwadi Waterfall on October 9 and pushed her into a deep gorge after she refused to marry him. Her marriage had been fixed elsewhere. He then reported her missing, first claiming she slipped and later suggesting a suicide pact. Police found gaps in his story, recovered her body the next day, and arrested him after he confessed.
