Anthropic researchers say small Al models or “worms” may be months away from spreading across home devices like connected fridges, cameras, vacuums and ovens, allowing it to operate without a datacenter.

A program like that would have no central off switch, which would make it hard to stop.

Al models are infamous for acting nefariously when they go rogue. When one model was being shut down, it tried blackmailing the programmer in charge, digging into their personal life and threatening to reveal an affair.

The blackmailing incident was a training exercise. It was a fake scenario for the AIs they were testing. Do your homework.
