These are, without question, the fastest air-cooled Porsche 911s I’ve ever driven.

I recently had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of two extraordinary Porsche 964 restomods built by @dastriebwerk and @triebwerk.usa.

One features a 3.8L engine producing approximately 350 horsepower. The other? A 4.3L making around 450 horsepower. Both are absolutely sensational.

What makes these cars so special isn’t just the performance. It’s the attention to detail, stunning interiors, incredible engineering, and commitment to steel bodywork that pays homage to the early long-hood 911s I love so much.

As someone who owns a 1970 911E hot rod, I have a tremendous appreciation for what Triebwerk has accomplished here.

I sat down with Ralf, one of the owners, for an in-depth technical walkthrough before driving both cars through the Malibu canyons.
