⭐️ NEW MEM MONDAY ⭐️ Introducing Aomi!

Aomi is a Sophomore from Riverside, CA! She is studying Global Health, with a minor in Juvenile Justice. Outside of Alpha Chi, she works as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Garfield Medical Center. She is also studying for her wellness coach license with USC’s School of Social Work! And she’s super into cooking and travel!

Here’s Aomi’s why for joining Alpha Chi:
“Growing up in Vietnam, I witnessed first hand the impacts of systemic patriarchy and domestic violence. Coming to USC as a non LA native student, I was searching for a purpose, but also a place to belong. I found both in Alpha Chi Omega. What made me stay with Alpha Chi is my dedication to help support domestic violence victims. There is absolutely no pressure to fit a certain mold here; instead, these girls celebrate and uplift everyone’s personal, niche identity. ❤️”

Some fun facts about Aomi:
1. One of her biggest passions is studying the healthcare system and working to better it.
2. Her favorite way to spend her weekend is ordering food and watching movies with her friends!
3. Her favorite TV show is Criminal Minds or Private Practice!

We are so lucky to have you in Alpha Chi, Aomi! 💓

If this offends you. Get used to it. Or block me.
JazakAllah khair ✨

The Knot Exclusive: They lost their wedding venue less than 48 hours before saying “I do.” 💔 What happened next was a reminder of what weddings are really about.

When Alexandra Hensler and Justice Shepard learned a court order would shut down their dream venue in Sicily, their wedding planner and nearly every vendor rallied to pull off an entire wedding in less than 24 hours. “We were at the beach in Sicily when our planners called and told us to sit down. A few things ran through my head. Maybe there was an issue with the ceremony site, maybe we’d lost a vendor. Nothing could have prepared me to hear that we’d lost our venue less than 48 hours before our wedding,” Hensler said. “A court order was shutting the venue down starting on the morning of our wedding day. It was completely out of their control, and they handled it the best they could and were so helpful. Together we landed on a plan: Since we had the venue for two days, we could move the wedding up a day, so we could still have it there before the venue was officially closed. That meant pulling off an entire wedding in less than 24 hours.”

Hensler shared the words from her lead wedding planner @kaynorthrup the night they got the news: “It’s not going to be the wedding you planned for, but it will still be wonderful and so special.” And it was so special: A day filled with even more love, unforgettable memories and a team of pros who went above and beyond to make it happen. Their favorite memories were exchanging vows surrounded by loved ones, celebrating with an ocean jump at the end of the night, and spending an unexpected bonus day in Sicily together, including a farewell dinner capped by a rainbow and a room full of love. At the end of the weekend, Hensler said: “I told Kay that she was right. It wasn’t the wedding we planned for. It was even better.” 🤍

Their biggest takeaway for couples navigating the unexpected? “Choose a team you trust and connect with, because when something goes wrong, those relationships are everything.”
