HU Staff: Ariela Anís @ari.anis ⚠️ SENSITIVE / PRAYERS: An Air Force Airman has been confirmed dead after plummeting 170 feet from the Alamodome’s rafters. The military officer was part of the rappel team from Detachment 2 of the 6th Combat Training Squadron, headquartered at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. ___________________________________________________ On Saturday (October 17), the airman was repelling from the rafters during a fast-rope demonstration. It was before the UTSA Vs. Navy Game. However, during the demonstration, the airman was repelling down and about halfway through, he lost control. He slid down the line and crashed to the ground. Immediately, medical personnel tended to his aide. They then transferred him off the field and to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. ___________________________________________________ A Nellis spokesperson confirmed in a statement to USA TODAY that the incident is under investigation. Additionally, UTSA issued a statement following the incident, as did the American Conference. It read, “We are deeply saddened by the incident that occurred at the start of tonight’s football game. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the soldier who was affected, his family and his military colleagues. We recognize that members of our campus community may be emotionally affected by this incident and are activating wellbeing services to support our faculty, staff and students.” After the game, UTSA football coach Jeff Traylor also spoke out. ___________________________________________________ Click the link in bio for full story 📸 ABC 6 / X: qu4k3r0ats

A very V-TEC collection! This collection of five Japanese performance cars comes to us from Morganville, New Jersey, courtesy of BaT Local Partner @autovaultnj. It spans what many believe to be the high-water mark of Honda engineering, from the mid-engine NSX flagship all the way to a high-revving Civic Si. Four of the five hail from the 2000 model year, making the group something of a snapshot of what an enthusiast could have driven away from a Honda or Acura showroom at the turn of the century. Tesla’s new Roadster just took the supercar conversation into the air. Elon Musk unveiled the redesigned electric sports car at a SpaceX facility in Texas, showcasing thruster-assisted airborne manoeuvres that looked straight out of a sci-fi movie. The demonstration showed brief aerial movement rather than sustained flight like a conventional aircraft, but it offered a dramatic glimpse of Tesla’s ambitions for the Roadster. With extraordinary acceleration claims and production targeted for 2028, there is still plenty to prove before this vision reaches customers. Would you get behind the wheel of a thruster-powered Tesla? #TheTrillionaireLife #Tesla #Roadster #ElonMusk #SpaceX
