Skiers I am sure you all have been in this single leg position at some point. And hopefully the majority of you have been able to save it or control it enough to bail out smoothly. Unfortunately a fair amount of you have potentially strained muscles/tendons and sprained or ruptured ligaments in this position. This commonly happens due to rapidly overloading one leg as well as hyperextending where a large amount of forces get directed behind the knee. Add in some rotational forces and you’re gonna have a bad time…So why not train different contraction rates, different loading patterns with some rotational work. When this does happen to you, give your body a fighting chance to combat the demand being placed on it.
