This weekend makes everything real, bro. I wish it wasn’t, but here we are.
I still remember meeting you in tech class at Roose. You had them Bumblebee Nike Zoom FPs, and we talked sneakers all period. From there on out, you were the homie. Kids riding 6 deep in that champagne/gold (whatever the fuck color it was) Civic, going on adventures before niggas even had permits. You scooping me after shifts at Popeyes for some chicken, pulling up at the hospital w/ Wo when I busted my face open. Always had my back.
New Year’s at the Red Roof Inn, the parties, the bars, running around College Park, late nights in the gym, random morning calls saying, “I’m on the way, got a spot to try.” Smoking hookah pens in the parking lot til the coils burnt. And when my family lost our home, you and your folks took me in and made sure I was good. A year and some change together EVERY SINGLE DAY. That’s love, bro.
I’d give anything to relive the memories. Every phone call checking in, every goofy-ass text, every random thought, every wild idea. I cherish all of it.
Watching you achieve your goals and work in that ring was one of the proudest moments of my life. You always told me and Jordan we were the closest thing you had to siblings, and I’m grateful we got to be that for you. We were supposed to be in this shit for life. We had so much more to do.
I hate crying, nigga. I know you’d call me pussy. But this shit hurts, and I don’t know how to accept it, but I thank the Most High for letting me experience the unconditional love we shared bro. Don’t worry, we got Ma and Pop.
I wish this shit was different, but I’m grateful to have you watching over me now. I won’t say goodbye because I know you’ll always be here with me. I’ll just say see you later. We’ll meet again in another lifetime, you owe me a fade.
I LOVE YOU FOREVER, BROTHER. Rest easy. 🖤
