Of all the topics you covered last night, you spoke about this one with the most conviction because you’ve lived it and know that it doesn’t have to be this way in public education. Don’t forget that same conviction when people press you about your faith, making it seem like you don’t add up to their limited views of Christianity. Social welfare was paramount to Jesus, and he died on the cross because His message of love was radical, threatened the corrupt political system, and yet, he didn’t change His truth, so that we might experience that love ourselves and share it with others. Pro-lifers don’t say much about the number of children in the foster care system and the outcomes for them or the number of women who have died because they couldn’t get the care they needed. God gave us the intellect to discern and analyze complex topics like abortion. To say it is an all or nothing rule in every scenario is ignorant. Don’t let them shake you, sir. Speak with conviction about these faith topics like you do public education. Many Christians like me who have felt ignored and silenced are rooting for you. You know and have lived God’s love, and you were made for this moment! 💫
