“Eating healthy costs more than takeout.” Let’s actually check 👇

We priced one real Pure Prep meal, a garlic chicken & brown rice bowl (576 kcal · 54 g protein · 65 g carbs · 12 g fat), using estimated typical grocery prices from the Pure Prep app, counting only the amount you use:

🍗 5 oz chicken breast: $1.56
🍚 1 cup brown rice: $0.30
🥦 1 cup broccoli: $0.33
🥕 ½ cup carrots: $0.12
🫒 1 tsp olive oil: $0.07
🧂 Garlic powder, salt & pepper: from the pantry
= about $2.38 per container, or about $9.51 for 4 prepped lunches.

For comparison, prices we looked up today (10/13/26):
🧊 A 12 oz frozen chicken & rice bowl: $3.18 (grocery delivery listing)
🥡 A fast-casual burrito bowl: $12.75 menu price on a delivery app, before fees and tip

Nothing wrong with convenience. Frozen meals and takeout have their place on busy days. But cooking simple whole foods is often the cheaper option, not the luxury one. Buy the staples, cook once, portion it out.

Pure Prep builds whole-food meals around your macros and hands you the grocery list.
