👋🏻 Hi, I’m Claire!

As a kid, I spent a lot of time playing video games. I was a bit of a brainiac, so when my 11 year old self discovered you could code your own games- as you could probably imagine, it was a whole new world for me. There was little that could compare to the joy I got from seeing my friends enjoying a game that I worked hard on- programming quickly became my first big passion.

Shortly after graduating high school, my parents introduced me to the gym, and another passion was unlocked: bodybuilding quickly became the center of my attention. In the course of a year I bulked up to 163 lbs / 28% body fat and cut down to 136lbs / 21% body fat. The impact from that transformation was huge- it gave me a sense of self confidence I had never experienced before.

When I finished my weight cut, I found myself in a bit of a pickle: I wanted to continue eating whole foods that helped me reach my goals, but I was tired of eating the exact same meals for 3 months during my cut. And working a full time job, cooking different meals each day was not a realistic option for me. So I dusted off my laptop and began working on Pure Prep, my passion project.

Pure Prep is a meal planning app that provides you with a customized week of eating that adheres to your financial and fitness goals, tells you exactly what groceries to buy and how to easily prep them just one day a week, and automatically tracks the items in your kitchen, notifying you when its time to stock up next. I began building this project on three foundational ideas: real food, real macros, and real convenience. Whether your goal is to fit healthy eating into your busy work week or get in the best shape of your life, I can assure you that Pure Prep has easily let me do both. It’s the app I wish I had, and I can’t wait to share it with you.

One Greek yogurt base, 5 completely different breakfasts 👇

Plain 2% Greek yogurt is the high-protein base; the toppings do the rest. Each bowl is about 550 calories:

🍓 Strawberry mango blackberry + chia: 552 kcal · 40 g protein · 71 g carbs · 15 g fat
🫐 Chocolate berry mango + flax: 538 kcal · 46 g protein · 59 g carbs · 16 g fat
🍌 Maple cinnamon banana walnut: 546 kcal · 41 g protein · 64 g carbs · 17 g fat
🎃 Pumpkin spice banana raisin + pepitas: 562 kcal · 39 g protein · 71 g carbs · 17 g fat
🍒 Chocolate cherry blackberry + almond butter & honey: 553 kcal · 40 g protein · 70 g carbs · 17 g fat

One shared grocery list covers all five: about $23.96 of ingredients for the 5 bowls (≈ $4.79 a bowl), or $88.54 to buy every package new. The seeds, nuts, spices and syrups last for many more bowls. (Estimated typical grocery prices; yours may vary.)

Pure Prep builds bowls like these around YOUR calories and macros, and hands you the grocery list.

“Eating healthy costs more than takeout.” Let’s actually check 👇

We priced one real Pure Prep meal, a garlic chicken & brown rice bowl (576 kcal · 54 g protein · 65 g carbs · 12 g fat), using estimated typical grocery prices from the Pure Prep app, counting only the amount you use:

🍗 5 oz chicken breast: $1.56
🍚 1 cup brown rice: $0.30
🥦 1 cup broccoli: $0.33
🥕 ½ cup carrots: $0.12
🫒 1 tsp olive oil: $0.07
🧂 Garlic powder, salt & pepper: from the pantry
= about $2.38 per container, or about $9.51 for 4 prepped lunches.

For comparison, prices we looked up today (10/13/26):
🧊 A 12 oz frozen chicken & rice bowl: $3.18 (grocery delivery listing)
🥡 A fast-casual burrito bowl: $12.75 menu price on a delivery app, before fees and tip

Nothing wrong with convenience. Frozen meals and takeout have their place on busy days. But cooking simple whole foods is often the cheaper option, not the luxury one. Buy the staples, cook once, portion it out.

Pure Prep builds whole-food meals around your macros and hands you the grocery list.

Ever wondered what a 2,200-calorie day of real, whole food looks like on the plate? 👇

Four cozy, simple meals and nothing else. No shakes standing in for dinner, no mystery ingredients, just oats, chicken, turkey, rice, potatoes, fruit and yogurt.

🎃 Pumpkin spice banana oats: 548 kcal
🍗 Chicken thigh & potato bowl: 551 kcal
🌮 Turkey & rice bowl: 554 kcal
🍒 Cherry blackberry yogurt bowl: 547 kcal

That adds up to 2,200 kcal with 160 g protein, 272 g carbs and 61 g fat, all from ingredients your local grocery store already carries. Swipe through for every portion and recreate the day in your own kitchen.

That’s the idea behind Pure Prep: whole-food days like this, planned around YOUR calories and macros, so the numbers are sorted before you even write a shopping list.

Which of these did you used to believe? 👇

No shame here, we’ve all heard them. Here’s the plain version:

❌ Carbs make you gain weight → ✅ Weight change comes down to total calories over time. Oats, potatoes, rice and fruit fit any goal, and bring fiber with them.
❌ Eating fat makes you fat → ✅ Fat has more calories per gram (9 vs 4), so portions matter, but olive oil, nuts and avocado belong in a balanced day.
❌ You need bars and shakes for protein → ✅ Chicken, fish, eggs, Greek yogurt, beans and lean beef can cover it. Powder is a convenience, not a requirement.
❌ Frozen produce is less nutritious → ✅ It’s usually frozen soon after harvest, so it holds up nutritionally, and it keeps for months.

The last slide shows what balanced looks like: a chicken thigh & potato bowl, 551 kcal · 37 g protein · 64 g carbs · 17 g fat. Carbs, fat and protein, all whole food.

Pure Prep builds days like that around YOUR calories and macros, no gimmicks required.

Same craving. Very different food. 🍓

When I want something sweet and creamy, it’s easy to grab a “healthy” protein pint. Lately I make this instead: Greek yogurt and berries.

Halo Top Strawberry Light Ice Cream (whole pint): 270 calories · 15 g protein · 18 ingredients
My bowl: ~270 calories · ~24 g protein · 2 ingredients

Same calories, more protein, no added sugar, and I know exactly what’s in it.

Halo Top Strawberry Light Ice Cream ingredients, word for word from the label:
Ultrafiltered Skim Milk*, Skim Milk, Soluble Corn Fiber, Strawberries, Sugar, Erythritol, Cream, Vegetable Glycerine, Contains 1% or less of Natural Flavors, Citric Acid, Cellulose Gel, Cellulose Gum, Sea Salt, Mono and Diglycerides, Inulin, Vitamin A Palmitate, Stevia Leaf Extract (Reb M), Beet Extract for Color.

My bowl’s ingredients: Greek yogurt. Mixed berries. 🫐

Nothing against the pint, it’s a fun treat. Real food is just what keeps me full and fueled.

What’s a “healthy” snack you swapped out for real food? Tell me below 👇
