For a lot of women, desire is more an RSVP than a spark🔥
That’s our shorthand for what Dr. Loni Hersh calls responsive desire, one of the quieter revelations in part two of our Counter Intelligence conversation with the founder of Peaceful Pelvis Physical Therapy. Wanting often builds out of touch, closeness and actually feeling relaxed. Add a demanding job, a toddler or pain to the mix, and expecting desire to make the first move starts to look like an unfair ask. No gummy has figured out how to fix that.
So, we asked her to walk the intimate wellness aisle with us. Good lube made the cut. So did Kiwi, a pelvic massager from
@thepelvicpeople that she recommends to her own clients. The idea of a universal “female Viagra” was politely retired, since there isn’t one, and the med-spa menu got a gentle edit too. “Vaginal rejuvenation,” it turns out, is a marketing term with a very good publicist ✨
What she’d really like is for the information to show up earlier. Right now, most people learn pelvic floor therapy exists because a friend or a doula mentions it in passing. Her version starts in grade-school health class, taught as plainly as the puberty unit.
Her spiciest take fit in five words: pelvic floor therapy ≠ Kegels.
What’s the one thing in that aisle you’ve always side-eyed?
