the old trick of putting conkers on your windowsill to keep spiders out? sadly it doesn’t work 🌰
there’s no science behind it at all. when it’s been tested, spiders walked right past the conkers like they weren’t even there 🕷️
the reason you’re seeing more of them right now is that autumn is house spider mating season. the males leave their webs and go wandering in search of a partner, which is why they keep turning up across the living room floor ✨
if you can, leave them be. they’re great at catching flies and fungus gnats, so a little spider near your houseplants is basically free pest control 🌿

No I don't put conkers out. I don't mind small spiders but not the big ones. I'd never harm one I use a glass and piece of paper to get rid of them. 🕷️ 🕷️ 🕸️
