This week has been one of the hardest weeks I've had since starting nursing school. 💔
I tested positive for the flu, felt absolutely miserable, and somehow still had to push through four tests this week. There were moments when I wanted nothing more than to crawl into bed, shut my laptop, and forget about everything for a little while.
Being a mom of seven while chasing my dream of becoming a nurse is not for the weak. Some days I feel like I'm barely holding it all together. And I'd be lying if I said quitting hasn't crossed my mind a time or two.
But then there are moments like this. ❤️
It's late, the house is finally quiet, and I'm sitting in the dark typing away on my laptop while my youngest, just 2 years old, falls asleep on my chest.
And I'm reminded of exactly why I'm doing this.
My children are my biggest motivation, and my faith is what keeps me going when I feel like I have nothing left to give.
I truly believe God didn't place this dream on my heart and open doors for me just to leave me halfway through. He made a way when I couldn't see one, and I have to trust that He will continue to carry me through the hard days.
One day, these late nights, the tears, the exhaustion, and the sacrifices will all be worth it. One day, my children will see that their mama didn't give up, even when giving up would've been the easier choice.
I'm not just working toward a nursing license. I'm showing my children what faith, perseverance, and determination look like.
And if all I can do today is hold my baby with one arm and type with the other, then that's exactly how we're going to get through nursing school. 🥹❤️
God didn't bring me this far to only bring me this far. 🙏🏼🩺
