Time to get the sticks and feathers out 😂🌿 A little bit of calm before I get stuck in creating the tangled undergrowth, wild flowers and plants…

Eight Nigerian Soldiers k+lled As Army Vehicle Hits Landmine Planted By terr%rists In Borno State

Eight Nigerian soldiers have reportedly been k+lled after their patrol vehicle struck a landmine allegedly planted by Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) militants in Borno State.

The incident occurred on Saturday in Kinuba village, about 25 kilometres from Gamboru, near Nigeria’s border with Cameroon, according to defence sources who spoke to AFP on Sunday.

The soldiers were reportedly inspecting anti-jihadist militia members clearing thick vegetation along a highway when their vehicle ran over the explosive device and detonated, killing all eight occupants.

“All eight soldiers in the vehicle were k+lled in the explosion,” a military officer in the region said.

Ibrahim Liman, a member of the militia supporting the military’s counterinsurgency operations, also confirmed the de@th toll, explaining that the expl%sive had been planted on the unpaved road and remotely triggered.

“The expl%sive was planted on the dusty road and remotely detonated by a detonating cord,” Liman stated.

He added that a militia member supervising the vegetation-clearing operation sustained shrapnel inj¥ries in the expl%sion.

The att@ck occurred on the same day the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, visited Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, following an earlier assa¥lt on a military base that reportedly claimed the lives of 15 soldiers and five anti-jihadist militia members.

ISWAP was blamed for the latest incident, as militants continue to exploit thick vegetation along highways to conceal expl%sives and ambush security personnel and road users.

tw: pregnancy loss 🦋

The most joyous 12 weeks of my life in an instant turned into the most devestating 24 hours of my life.

Right before leaving for a month to travel the world and celebrate love, Cecil and I found out we were expecting our first child! Our journey to parenthood has not been easy, so finding out we were finally pregnant felt so surreal

We spent the following weeks imagining our future, writing their names, buying their first souvenir toys, and falling more in love with someone we hadn’t even met yet. We got to see and hear our baby’s strong heartbeat and little movements and couldn’t wait for the life ahead.

At our 12 week appointment, the “safe” point when we thought we’d be one step closer to meeting our baby , we received the heartbreaking news that the pregnancy was no longer viable and within hours my miscarriage began , my water broke and I painfully and naturally delivered our baby at home

Nothing at all can prepare you for this kind of heartbreak. I feel forever changed and honestly superhuman from the physical experience but more importantly, I deeply miss the bond I’d already formed with our child.

As devastated as we both are, we’re so grateful we got to experience this kind of love, even if only for a little while. We hope they enjoyed the ride with us but are having the best time up above 🤍
