NOTHING ABOUT US WITHOUT US: AMPLIFYING ADOLESCENTS’ VOICES FOR HEALTH EQUITY

Every adolescent deserves a safe space to ask questions, access accurate health information and make informed decisions about their well-being.

In commemoration of International Adolescent Health Week 2026, themed “Nothing About Us Without Us: Power, Voice and Health Equity for All Adolescents,” the Nasarawa State Government, with support from ARFH and partners, facilitated safe-space dialogues with adolescents, parents and community leaders in Doma and Lafia LGAs.

The sessions promoted open discussions on puberty, sexual and reproductive health, pregnancy prevention, HIV/STI prevention, personal hygiene, self-care, and access to appropriate health services and referrals.

By engaging adolescents alongside parents and community leaders, the initiative is fostering supportive environments where young people can access reliable information, make informed choices and have their voices heard.
