Μέχρι το μεσημέρι της 17ης Οκτωβρίου, είχαν καταγραφεί 140 κινητοποιήσεις στις περιοχές της Γαλλίας εκτός του Παρισιού. Ο αριθμός των συλληφθέντων σε ολόκληρη τη χώρα έφτασε τους 230.
Στο Παρίσι, η αστυνομία επενέβη με δακρυγόνα εναντίον των διαδηλωτών στην πλατεία République και γύρω από τις Grands Boulevards. Συγκρούσεις σημειώθηκαν στην πλατεία Bellecour στη Λυών, ενώ στη Μασσαλία σημειώθηκαν συγκρούσεις γύρω από το δημαρχείο και την Canebière. Ένταση και αστυνομικές επιθέσεις σημειώθηκαν επίσης στη Ρεν και την Τουλούζη.
