Somewhere in my soul, I knew I would have to get into the micromanaging of cost and where I spend every penny to ensure that I am staying a profitable dental practice. I hate every moment of this journey, but I love every bit of knowledge it is bringing me. And at the end of this journey, I’m just doubling down that Delta Dental is trash and nobody should accept them. I probably didn’t need a spreadsheet to determine that but it’s confirming what I’ve known for 20 years.

It’s impossible while accepting insurance. Hygienist historically have placed so much assumed blame on the dentist for being cheap. It’s not easy. God bless you guys. Dual roles a business owner and a professional def has its perks, but lack of responsibility is not one. Which is why a lot of dentists are letting go and turning the business end over. We need to find a way to increase reimbursement for the good of all, especially patients.

Over a decade owning a hygiene practice… apparently “out of network” is self-care. 😂
