Thank you @pagingdrfran for speaking up on this. I fear there are still too many of my colleagues who would not treat a women during pregnancy. by @michellestrangerdh

Snuggled up under a blanket, ballot in hand, and voting like my life depends on it. Because in so many ways, it does.

I’m voting like my friends’ health, safety, and livelihoods depend on it. Like my patients’ access to healthcare depends on it. Like healthcare funding, cancer research, and women’s health depend on it. Like children having access to school lunches depends on it. Like the dignity, freedom, and fundamental human rights of people I love, people I care for, and people I will never meet depend on it. Because these aren’t just political talking points. These are real people. Real families. Real consequences.

And before someone jumps into my comments to tell me that “politics shouldn’t be in dentistry,” let me stop you right there.

Dentistry is healthcare. Healthcare is impacted by policy. And policy is shaped by politics.

Our patients don’t leave their financial struggles, their medical conditions, their identities, or their barriers to care at the door when they sit in our chairs. And we don’t get to pretend those things exist in a vacuum simply because we’re healthcare professionals. Funding matters. Research matters. Access matters. Education matters. Human rights matter.

Politics doesn’t stay outside our operatories like a vampire waiting to be asked in. It influences the health and well-being of the communities we serve, the businesses we operate, and the people we love.

So yes, I’m sitting here in my cozy blanket, filling out my ballot, thinking about far more than myself.
I’m voting like my life and the lives of so many others depend on it. Because the decisions made in government don’t stay in government. They show up in our homes, our communities, and our dental chairs. by @michellestrangerdh

#belmontpartner
Remember when I said I loved this chair for BP readings and easy access for patients with walkers, canes, and wheelchairs? Add radiographs to the list! 📸 Because my patients sit upright in my Belmont Pro III 047 knee-break chair, I can get right in front of them with my portable x-ray for proper anterior positioning, no extended legs in the way. Better positioning, better images. 🦷

Sometimes the right equipment changes everything about how you deliver care.

My favorite thing is giving little Michelle the dreams she never knew were hers to reach for. by @michellestrangerdh

Sending out signed copies of my book “Independent By Design” in partnership with @andau_med for #nationaldentalhygienemonth

I hope every hygienist who receives one feels validated in their frustrations, but finds the strength to stay in it. You are needed. People need your skills, your passion, your excitement (even if it is buried deep inside) for what we can do as dental hygienist.

You are more than a scaler. Keep going.

My actual nightmare is happening. I was draining my lines for the GBT machine (Rosie) and then I tripped on them 🫠🫣🥴☠️

Now the machine is not working and I’m trying not to spiral out of control

And I know this will only make sense if you have been on the wallpaper journey with me, but this is all bc of the wallpaper. The wallpaper is an evil entity. I am finally convinced. by @michellestrangerdh

But can we all start to organize a walk out? Max exodus on the same day? Protest in front of the CEO’s houses? I love a protest :)

So anyway, cheers to sunsets and wishing the very worst for #deltadental

(But also while I am here, same goes for #unitedhealthcare #humana #cigna and #thebigbeautifulbill ) by @michellestrangerdh

Somewhere in my soul, I knew I would have to get into the micromanaging of cost and where I spend every penny to ensure that I am staying a profitable dental practice. I hate every moment of this journey, but I love every bit of knowledge it is bringing me. And at the end of this journey, I’m just doubling down that Delta Dental is trash and nobody should accept them. I probably didn’t need a spreadsheet to determine that but it’s confirming what I’ve known for 20 years. by @michellestrangerdh

How in the weeds do you get with your expenses?

And also tell me what expense surprised you the most. For me, it is always how much I spend on sterilization pouches 🤣 by @michellestrangerdh

Coming to ya, Charleston-area dental clinicians.

Implant cases continue to rise across practices, but are your recall and maintenance protocols keeping pace? Managing peri-implant tissues requires a specialized clinical approach focused on biofilm disruption, tissue assessment, and targeted patient-centered care rather than aggressive instrumentation.

I will be presenting at Charleston Oral and Facial Surgery in Ladson, SC, covering evidence-based implant maintenance strategies designed to ensure long-term clinical success.

Will I see you there??? by @michellestrangerdh
