All opinions are mine. This book had me immediately captivated with its spooky vibes. I definitely loved the murder investigation revolving around a creepy inn, an abandoned spooky hospital & a strange town that gave the story such an unsettling and eerie atmosphere. The writing style was quite easy and engaging making the narrative easy and quick to follow. The fun & witty banter between Corbin and Wren was my favourite part of this book . I really enjoyed their dynamic which kept things quite entertaining and lively. That said, I felt that the supernatural aspect of the book was quite underdeveloped. I also found the ending quite disappointing and confusing as it left me with more questions. I expected a bit more clarity. 👉 Overall , it was a quick and easy entertaining read . I will definitely be looking forward to the next book in the series. ✨ Thank you to Netgalley and Datura for providing me with the ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine. First of all, this is such a promising debut. I loved how easy and engaging the writing in this book was, along with how character-driven the story felt. I absolutely loved the friendship dynamics between Grace & Jo . They added so much value and personality to the storyline. There were lots of humorous and lighter moments that made this such an entertaining read. I really enjoyed the amateur-sleuth aspect of the story with two women getting involved in solving a murder mystery. That said, the mystery itself lacked depth for me . I wanted more suspense and twists. The pacing also felt quite uneven at times with some sections moving quite slower than expected. While I enjoyed Grace's internal monologues, their repetitive nature was quite distracting. I also predicted the killer quite early on. 👉 Overall, this was a fun, entertaining cosy murder mystery with character driven storylin
✨ CHECK IN SATURDAY ✨ I’m so grateful for this life and journey. I am trying so hard to cancel out the noise both in my head and in my accounts. The noise that says “you are not good enough” “you should be further along in your journey” “you havnt hit the goal” “you are going backwards” Trust me, those thoughts go through my head every single day, but I can’t let them win. I have to see the big picture, the big picture is so beautiful. It is a 5 year journey in which I have had doubts and tough times but no matter what I kept showing up, it is not different now, it is just learning to live my new life without chasing “the next big thing” now it’s just learning to live life AFTER weightloss, it is a beautiful life just learning to navigate through it. #weightloss #weightlossjourney #weightlosstransformation #transformation #progress
