Early morning downtown is its own scene. I am not a morning person, so I was definitely half asleep each morning as I made my way to work, which made many of the things I witnessed at that hour even more intense - death more than once.

What I did appreciate about working downtown was that it kind of felt like working in a mall (I imagine, I never was a mall worker) in that it felt as if all the downtown workers were my coworkers. It was like “we’re all in this work day together and we’re going to get through this, by god! And then we’ll get on yellowline for a harrowing ride home!”

Ooh I know this early morning downtown vibe! 🫈 I used to have a music/art studio space over Kelly's Olympian from 1990-2003. Sometimes I'd sleep there and emerge at strange hours ..🫪
