π TOUCH OF LOVE π
@tarabrownfoundation By now, most of us have heard the heartbreaking story of Tara Brown, a 24-year-old Gold Coast mum whose life was taken in a domestic violence situation on 9 September 2015 π
Her story shook the entire community, and it's a reminder that domestic violence is real, it's close to home, and it has to stop ππΎ
This past weekend our 6PBC fam came together to play at the annual Tara Brown "Touch of Love" tournament, to honour her memory and raise awareness about domestic violence. Especially in our Polynesian community, it's a cycle that needs to be broken π
So proud of our members for showing up with no training or experience and giving it a crack ππΎ
That's what community is about:
Turning up for each other, on & off the field π― #
To anyone doing it tough: you are not alone, and help is available. Reach out to 1800RESPECT (1800 737 732), anytime, 24/7. In an emergency, call 000 π
Rest In Love Tara ποΈ Your memory continues to live on through the sport you loved the most. Thank you for bringing us together every year π«ΆπΎ
