A 15-year-old girl was hospitalized Thursday night after telling police she had escaped from a basement in northwest Baltimore and was stabbed by an unidentified man.

According to the Baltimore Police Department, officers responded to a reported stabbing in the 3800 block of Belle Avenue at approximately 9:30 p.m. on October 22.

When officers arrived, they found the teenager receiving medical treatment for a stab wound. Police said she told them she had escaped from a basement in the area before being attacked by an unknown male.

The girl remained sedated as of Friday, but officials said she was expected to survive her injuries.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. No further details about the suspect have been released.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Baltimore Police detectives at 410-396-2466.

The national crush Rashmika Mandanna, who had recently collaborated with Whisper for their latest campaign, Periods But Bindaas, in an interview with Mid Day recalled the time when she thought she was going to die when she got her first period.

She said, “I was in a shock situation and was scared to talk to anyone. I remember folding towels and using them as a pad because I didn't know that something like a sanitary pad existed. For some reason, I thought this was a one-time thing.

She added “He (referring to her husband Vijay Devarakonda) knows where I'm coming from and why I'm feeling things a certain way. I'm also a very vocal person. If I feel low for no reason, I'll tell him, 'Listen, my period is starting in a few days, and I just need you to be with me.' I'll already give him a sort of an intimation.

You can't expect more, being a man. It's not like they can take the uterus out. But it's comforting to know he's there. He gives me tummy rubs and presses my hand and feet because he's like, 'That's all I can do”.🥹❤️
