Tears of burning scarlet turn to heart of phoenix, flowing through vespertine of endless space and time ✨️🌙 Wish the stars woukd heal the scars and every wounds that grief the night, let the moon shines in peace again, and let the fireflies light the dark again

1989 photo is from Vogue, April 1, 1989: a Cashmere-Cashmere sweater at $250, which is $672 today (Minneapolis Fed inflation calculator).

Quince’s $45 tee is 100% Grade-A Mongolian cashmere. Same “100% cashmere” on the label, 37 years apart.

Affordable luxury finds!

U.S. Customs tracks women’s 100% cashmere sweaters separately, so this is a count, not an estimate.

Imports hit 8.3 million by 2000 and peaked at 11.4 million in 2005. The price is what importers declared at the border, before duties and markup, so retail marks up the price above these figures.

Mongolia’s goats grew 3.8× from 1990 to 2009 (Mongolian National Statistical Office, via Human Ecology, 2013).

The IMF ties the herd growth to cashmere prices.

Degradation and the grazing programs: UN Convention to Combat Desertification, Northeast Asia report, 2019.

Loro Piana’s description: 100% cashmere, gauge 14, made in Italy.

Walmart’s description: 100% cashmere body, trim 98% cashmere/1% spandex/1% other, imported.

Quince, for comparison, lists grade, origin and gauge.

Gauge is stitches per inch; higher is finer. Gauge a matter of design, not quality.

Same LED panel, same room, same ISO and shutter speed for all seven.

A red sweater blocks light by color alone, so I measured how much each one reflects and divided it out. It’s a rank, not a measurement: the top three were close.

The rank:
1 Loro Piana 6-gauge V-neck
2 J.Crew Perfect crewneck, $148 (the 2026 knit is the same as the one I tested)
3 J.Crew Premium quarter-zip, $228
4 Quince Oversized, $120
5 Banana Republic midweight turtleneck, $248
6 Uniqlo crewneck, $100
7 Quince $50 knit.

Open knits are

Here's three movements you might not be using that absolutely needs to be in your program

Number one the adductor machine AKA the good girl machine
You have this whole network of adductor muscles like that longus, brevis, pectineus, gracilis, obturator externus, and the adductor magnus that also does hip extension

The adductors fill out the inner part of your thigh so that you don't end up with a thigh gap because that shit has been out of style for some time. So don't neglect the adductor machine because it's the only way to hit some of those muscles

hip thrust
There's still factions of guys who will bend over for the entire gym and spread their cheeks in an RDL but will say doing hip thrusts are gay
What's gay is not doing thrusts because you're an insecure little man that doesn't know the glutes are the largest muscles in your whole body and that you should def be doing an alpha level s-tier move for them. And that's the thrust

Thrusts are great because they have a high propensity for loading, short learning curve, low injury risk and transfer over to other big moves like the squat and the deadlift. If you're not doing hip thrusts then maybe stop listening to dumb strength coaches who never got out of 1985

calf raises
Most people say that calves are entirely genetic but it's fact that all muscles are entirely genetic and that calves will grow just fine if you stop treating them like yesterdays empty donut box and instead treat them like that girl that's out of your league that you wanna date

Meaning, treat them right and give them the attention they deserve. Train them first in the workout, with a straight leg, hold the stretch for 3-5 seconds and go heavy for 4-8 reps for 2-3 sets two to three times a week. That will take them from low leg asparagus spears to at least something respectable in a pair of shorts
