James 4:13–15 (ESV)
“Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit’—yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.’”
As we continue to build and grow Story Builders, these verses have become a foundation for how we want to approach not only our business, but the purpose behind it.
From the beginning, our desire has been to intentionally start, grow, and lead this company with the understanding that nothing we have is truly ours. It has all been entrusted to us by God.
The opportunities, the resources, the talents, the relationships, and especially the people who make this business what it is today. We believe we’ve been given the privilege and responsibility to steward these things well.
Our goal has never been simply to build beautiful homes or grow a successful company. It’s to build something that honors God through the process. In how we lead, how we serve, how we treat people, and how we navigate both the opportunities and challenges that come our way.
We pray that this business continues to create opportunities for meaningful relationships, conversations about eternity, and moments where we can point back to the One who has made all of this possible.
We’re incredibly grateful for every person who has been part of this journey, for the gifts and abilities God has given each of us, and for the doors He continues to open.
We don’t know exactly where this adventure will take us, and that’s okay. Our responsibility is to remain faithful with what’s in front of us, work diligently, lead with integrity, and trust Him with the outcome.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105
As we continue forward, our prayer is that God’s Word remains the lamp to our feet, guiding every step, every decision, and every opportunity.
If the Lord wills.
Grateful for the journey. Grateful for the people. And above all, grateful for the One who has entrusted it all to us!
