Do Hard Things! Colorado weekend with some great people. 🏔️

Flew into Denver and spent a couple days at a cabin with good friends from @storylinechurchtv before taking on Mt. Yale — 14,200 ft.

9 hours, 21 minutes.
31,000+ steps.
3,400+ calories burned.
One 14er in the books. 👊

It was a grind, but standing on top of a 14,000-foot peak made every step worth it.

Stoked to have accomplished this one with a great group of guys. Definitely something I’d like to do again.

Until the next mountain. 🏔️ by @dennispmcelroy

🏁 STORY BUILDERS TAKES SOCAL 🏁

Our first (or maybe second… who’s counting 😂) annual Story Builders team trip down to Southern California was one for the books.

We linked up with @brenthelindustries and spent the day getting behind the wheel of 6100 Class Spec Trophy Trucks — pushing the limits, learning these machines, and getting more comfortable behind the wheel every lap. 🏜️🏎️💨

There’s something about getting outside your comfort zone, learning a new skill, and doing it alongside a great group of people that’s hard to beat.

We absolutely LOVE this stuff. The speed. The challenge. Learning how to control these trucks better every year. And, of course, getting a little sideways in the process. 😂🤘

Already looking forward to the next couple years and getting a whole lot more seat time behind the wheel of these things.

Work hard. Build cool stuff. Make some memories along the way. 🤙

Thanks for the time and hospitality @jonathanbrenthel & @jordanbrenthel 🙌🏻

10 acres. One-of-one luxury. Views in every direction. This is Sage View Estates. 🏔️

We’re officially framing one of our most exciting luxury estates in Eagle, Idaho, and for the first time, we’re getting to walk through a floor plan that’s been months in the making!

Situated on 10 private acres in an exclusive gated community, this single-level estate is designed to capture the incredible beauty of Idaho from every angle.

🏡 Nearly 4,000 sq. ft. of thoughtfully designed living space

🚘 Over 3,000 sq. ft. of garage space

⛰️ Panoramic views of the Owyhee Mountains and Bogus Basin

🌲 Your own private canyon, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty

One of our favorite features? The kitchen and expansive covered outdoor living area, where an extended roofline creates a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor entertaining—all while overlooking some of the most spectacular views in the Treasure Valley.

At Story Builders, we don’t build the same home twice. Every home is a one-of-one creation, thoughtfully designed around its setting, architecture, and the lifestyle it offers.

And this one is going to be something truly special.

We’re just getting started, but you can already see this estate coming to life.

The man who does it all.

Happy Birthday, I love you forever and always!

38 never looked so good 🔥

@dennispmcelroy by @dennispmcelroy

I quit my old career on my 37th birthday.

Today I turn 38.

Looking back, a lot happened in between.

Shannon and I celebrated nine years of marriage and welcomed our third daughter, Annalise. Mayer turned seven. Laney turned five. I pulled her first tooth.

More dates with my wife. More daddy-daughter time. More school pickups and dance classes. I’m grateful I got to be there for more of it.

Shelby and I went all in on Story Builders. Sold about six homes. Hired three full-time employees. Built a partnership and a team I’m incredibly grateful for.

I showed up at a pool barely able to swim 25 yards.

This year, I finished a half Ironman.

337 miles running. About 400 biking. 35.87 swimming. Climbed Mount Yale. Ran a 5K with my wife and girls.

I finished reading the Old Testament. Shannon and I started hosting a church group in our home. I hit one year without alcohol.

We improved our finances and gave more time and money than we ever have before.

And after all that, I looked at my 237 workouts—about 65% of the days in a year—and thought:

“That’s a D.”

Man, we can be hard on ourselves.

I still fall short daily. There are things I need to work on that don’t fit neatly into a birthday post. I’m also learning to appreciate the progress I’ve made.

I want my girls to see their dad keep learning. Love their mom. Keep his word. Take his faith seriously. Try things he’s bad at.

I’m grateful to God for another year. For Shannon. For our three girls. For the people who have helped me grow and the opportunities ahead.

Already dreaming about 2027. Today, taking a minute to appreciate 37.

What’s one thing you’ve done this year that you haven’t given yourself enough credit for? 🤙🏻 by @dennispmcelroy

Three weeks with baby Annalise, and it’s hard to imagine our family without her.

A little behind the scenes from our newborn shoot this morning with @danirae.photography. Moments I’m grateful we’ll always have to look back on.

Shannon, I love you. Thank you for everything you pour into our family. For making our house a home, for growing this family with me, and for being such an amazing mom to our girls. I know how much you give every day, especially in this season. I see it, and I’m so grateful I get to do this life with you.

Meyer and Laney are so excited about their baby sister. Watching them love on Annalise has been one of my favorite parts of these past few weeks.

My wife. My three girls. This home we’re building together.

Grateful for this life. 🙏🏻 by @dennispmcelroy

Faith doesn’t mean you never get frustrated—or that doing the right thing keeps you out of trouble.

In Acts 16, Paul frees a slave girl from a spirit. Her owners lose their source of income, and suddenly he and Silas are beaten and thrown into prison.

Their response? Praying and singing at midnight.

Paul also has Timothy circumcised, right after the council says circumcision isn’t required for salvation. Why? To remove a cultural barrier to reaching people. It didn’t make Timothy more saved. — Acts 16:1–4

In Acts 17, Paul reasons from Scripture in Thessalonica. In Athens, he starts with what his audience understands—their religious practices and poets—and leads the conversation toward God, repentance, and resurrection.

Different starting points. The same conviction.

And the Bereans give us something worth practicing: they listen eagerly, then examine the Scriptures to see whether what Paul says is true. — Acts 17:11

That’s what I’m working on: staying teachable, understanding people before speaking, and holding my convictions when things get uncomfortable.

Read Acts 16–17 for yourself. What stands out to you? 🤙🏻

Some of the most important details of a home are the ones you’ll never see once it’s finished! 🏡

We’re out at Wyatt’s Hollow, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at something most homeowners never get to see — the installation of a septic system.

From the connection at the home to the septic tank, underground piping, and two lateral lines extending down the hillside into the drain field, every detail has a purpose.

But what makes this installation unique is the intentional planning behind it. We strategically designed the system to preserve the backyard pad, keeping valuable space available for future possibilities like a pool, outdoor living areas, or beautiful landscaping.

At Story Builders, thoughtful construction goes far beyond what you can see. It’s about anticipating the future, maximizing the potential of every property, and making decisions today that create lasting value for tomorrow.

Homes with a story, built once.
