My sacrifices this summer for work, personal growth, and career progression were absolutely necessary, and life changing for that matter.

I wasn’t prepared for how hard it’d be away from Mayday though. I am beyond grateful she was with a friend that I trusted wholeheartedly.

When I finally had moments for my mind to wonder it would begin to calculate the time I hope to have with her in this lifetime and the time we were missing being apart. Wagering time like tomorrow is unknown and not guaranteed.

Which was a lesson I learned a long time ago from skydiving and BASE jumping, but this chapter was different. And to be completely honest, I had days flying that were more challenging than any BASE jump or any skydive I’ve ever done. I met versions of myself that I have never met before.

So, now I’m sitting here watching her sleep while I make flash cards for a new aircraft. I’m equipped with a new vision what it means to be a pilot with dog I love with my entire soul.
