Every child deserves to speak up safely and be taken seriously.
On 19 October, Ireland’s Ambassador to Tanzania, H.E. Nicola Brennan, officially launched the School Child Protection Desks initiative at Funguni Primary School in Pangani.
Established by UZIKWASA in collaboration with Pangani District Council, the desks cover 12 pilot schools seven primary and five secondary. They provide confidential ways for children to report violence, seek guidance and access appropriate support, inside and outside school.
The launch formed part of International Day of the Girl Child commemorations, reinforcing a shared responsibility: to listen, protect and act.
