Last Monday, I had the privilege of moderating the celebration in honour of Steve Emelieze, SAN, former Chairman of NBA Abuja, on his elevation to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

Listening to the tributes, one theme stood out: no one spoke only about his wins in court. They spoke about the young lawyers he guided, the colleagues he supported, and the Bar he served. The rank recognises advocacy, but the legacy is built through people.

Congratulations once again, Learned Silk, and to all colleagues elevated to the Inner Bar alongside him.
