Not AI — 🤖 3D printed Smile Trials are where we begin with any esthetic patient journey. I am firm believer in learning to design these in house - once you see what it takes to make a good smile design you’ll appreciate a quality lab even more if you don’t continue making them. I guarantee your cosmetic eye will grow exponentially.

Plus who knows, maybe you’ll be like me and find it to be one of the most rewarding parts of your career. Either way you should learn the process - it’s fun! It also allows you to control your destiny in case things go awry, which news flash, things will 😂.

TLDR: Design your own smiles, print temps easily, increase job satisfaction, more predicable cosmetic cases, allow patients to “feel” their new smile instead of old 2D photographic mockup, move from 3D printed to porcelain

Recurrent decay and ceramic fracture was the initiating spark that ignited change after 10-15 years.

You can’t choose what’s under existing porcelain. The way we prepare for veneers is drastically different than what we sometimes see from years ago. Fortunately, we were able to minimal prep any teeth we could after everything existing was removed with plans to continue work on the lower.

Patient had undergone orthodontics twice and was not interested in surgery or another round of orthodontics. Stable occlusion over the last 15 years with an anterior canine guidance allowed us to have some conversations on pros/cons of 10 and 10 veneers vs FMR. We elected to proceed with 10 over 10 ceramic veneer.

My absolute FAVORITE part of digital density is creating the 3D printed temps from original smile design and THEN creating final ceramic restorations based on that original design!

That’s some serious predictability there my friend and if you think “that sounds freaking nice” it is and you should do it too. I’ll help you get started - DM me.

My advice for you that you didn’t ask for: start taking pictures of your work and share it.
