Dinas Pendidikan Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah (Kalteng) meminta alat pemurni udara (air purifier) bantuan Humanies Project yang telah terpasang di sejumlah sekolah di Palangka Raya ditarik kembali. Instruksi itu disampaikan pihak sekolah kepada relawan pada Selasa (27/10/2026), lima hari setelah perangkat dipasang pada 22 Oktober 2026. Mengutip Afu.id, bantuan tersebut merupakan bagian dari program “Sekolah Aman Asap” yang digagas Humanies Project, gerakan relawan kemanusiaan, bersama Ranu Welum Foundation. Program ini menyasar sekolah yang terdampak kabut asap kebakaran hutan dan lahan (karhutla), seperti SKH Negeri 1 Palangka Raya dan SD Negeri 8 Panarung. Pemasangan dilakukan setelah permohonan resmi relawan disetujui kepala sekolah masing-masing. Penarikan itu diduga terkendala prosedur birokrasi dan ketidaksinkronan izin antara sekolah dan dinas pendidikan provinsi. Lewat Instagram, Humanies Project menyatakan menghormati kewenangan tersebut, tetapi menyayangkan tidak adanya komunikasi lebih dulu demi keselamatan siswa. “Kami berharap kejadian serupa tidak terulang dan tidak mengorbankan hak siswa atas lingkungan belajar yang aman dan sehat,” tulis Humanies Project. Keputusan ini memicu perdebatan warganet, antara kritik atas birokrasi yang dinilai kaku dan pembelaan terhadap pentingnya prosedur formal. Padahal, Kementerian Pendidikan Dasar dan Menengah (Kemendikdasmen) sebelumnya mendorong tiap kecamatan terdampak karhutla menyiapkan paling sedikit satu sekolah yang dilengkapi ruang kelas aman asap.
