I work hard to generate my own ideas and work and I’m concerned about this work being lifted on platforms like this.
I’m torn about leaving IG entirely- I find so much inspiration in the other creatives I discover here and it’s hard to wrap my head around being a successful creative in this day and age without this platform.
Curious if others have tried the applications designed to make image lifting by AI impossible- Glaze, Nightshade, etc?

Also- Autumn with Trail Magic, 16 months living in these woods on these trails…

I’ve been waffling privately about leaving IG and Facebook for a couple of years. They have degraded significantly in their usability and functionality since I joined, and their evilness seems to know few bounds, but they remain one of the best ways to follow other artists whose work I care about, to share about my own work, and learn about and share opportunities. For both myself and the residency. *Not to mention all the independent journalists and writers and filmmakers as well as people in dire situations who use these channels to reach those of us with more stability / insulation from collapse. (Palestine, Ukraine, Congo, ICE infested suburbs) So yeah- at this point I am considering doing glaze or nightshade. Haven’t decided- and I feel the pressure. Turning my profiles private? Leaving them still doesn’t seem viable but I hate being a part of these vile engines… maybe we should in fact just delete everything and go email newsletters. 🤷‍♀️ 😩

This has been on my mind a lot this week. This feels like an important place to share and promote my work and I don’t think platforms like patreon, or substack are a good fit for what I do, so leaving here completely doesn’t feel like the answer. I’m considering Nightshade, beyond that unclear.
