I work hard to generate my own ideas and work and I’m concerned about this work being lifted on platforms like this. I’m torn about leaving IG entirely- I find so much inspiration in the other creatives I discover here and it’s hard to wrap my head around being a successful creative in this day and age without this platform. Curious if others have tried the applications designed to make image lifting by AI impossible- Glaze, Nightshade, etc? Also- Autumn with Trail Magic, 16 months living in these woods on these trails… by @amber.l.paris
I’ve been working with Next Stage Arts here in Putney since the Spring to develop some creative, interactive invitations to co-create work that emphasizes the mission and values held by the organization. A Vermont Community Foundation Arts and Social Cohesion Grant has been secured to continue this work over the next 7 months beyond these banners. Stay tuned for more details about the Next Stage Adventure Passport- it’s gonna be super fun! by @amber.l.paris
Postcards are in and hand bound book prototype is unfolding! I hope you’ll swing by @tavernierchocolates between November 6- December 27 to see the Winter work of this on going project. The first hand-bound, seasonal volume of a four volume set will also be available to peruse (and purchase) and will include images of the work, the process and the land as well as beautiful written prose by @emmaparispoet and @willowjordanuth Opening during November gallery walk 5-7, 11/6 by @amber.l.paris
Outdoor studio assistants holding down the plastic strips on these gusty October days! Almost done with the clear plastic then onward toward connecting the two strips, adding color and INSTALLATION at WSWMD! by @amber.l.paris
Summer is complete and up at the Bare Hill kiosk! And I’m well into the final season of this project, which started on the Winter Solstice in 2025. A compilation handbound book of images and writing (yay for collabs with @emmaparispoet and @willowjordanuth) will be the next chapter of this project to chronicle this lovely almanac of color on Bare Hill. I will also be showing select Winter work from this project at @tavernierchocolates during the months of November and December. This project is supported in part by the Vermont Arts Council, which receives support from the State of Vermont, the National Endowment for the Arts, and generous private donors. by @amber.l.paris
Come for just one morning of play, or this full series over the course of three weekends. We’ll be making cyanotypes the first weekend, October 3 and/or 4th. You can further transform your cyanotypes in ongoing workshops with handmade pigments, printmaking, and bookbinding… And finish off your book with a silver casted button. https://www.mainstreetarts.org/the-interconnection-series.html With @infomainstreetarts @amber.l.paris by @amber.l.paris
A closer look at the process! ‘Illuminated Trash’ is possible because of a Brattleboro Town Arts Fund grant. Installation at Windham Solid Waste Management District on schedule for November 2026! by @amber.l.paris
I know it’s rainy, but it’s still a great day to come down to the @putneyfarmersmarket for all your local produce needs, great live music and to get a looks at how this collaborative installation is coming together! You can learn more about this artist residency program at @wswmd_327 the dump, and learn more about how I’m creating this pilot installation! This project is made possible in part with a Brattleboro Town Arts Fund grant. by @amber.l.paris
So insanely excited and honored to be receiving a Vermont Arts Council Creation Grant to keep following this line of inquiry!! Nearly 3/4 of a full year complete, collecting information, paying attention, translating and considering. Feeling so full of gratitude for these woods and for having this work recognized and being given the opportunity to keep pursuing it! by @amber.l.paris
Outdoor studio up and (mostly) holding. Words done- now onward to the rest of the 24,336 squares and plastic strips. Illuminated Trash- a pilot residency program and installation with Windham Solid Waste Management District- made possible in part by a Brattleboro Town Arts fund grant. Constructed with 100% rescued plastic film. Installation at the dump slated for late Fall of 2026- and opportunities for future artist in residence at the dump detail coming in early 2027. Follow along on my website to see it evolve. by @amber.l.paris

Did you know single use plastic bags were widely introduced to the public in 1979- in my lifetime, we have moved from no plastic bags to 5 trillion worldwide/year. These past two weeks found me leading a trash-art camp at @rivergalleryschool co-leading a summer reading program at the Putney Public Library and inviting engagement at @putneyfarmersmarket Lots of folks showed up to help flesh out the bottom 1/3 of this piece that will be made entirely of plastic bags rescued from @wswmd_327 the dump. The final piece will measure 6’ x 24’ and will include a fun science experiment that we can watch in action as the fake ‘green’ bags segue to actual compostable bags and we watch what breaks down and what does not. This project is made possible in part with a grant from @artswindhamcounty Brattleboro Town Arts Fund. It is also just the beginning- I hope to build the necessary scaffolding for future artists in residence at the transfer station. This piece will be installed in late Fall of this year- follow along and watch it grow! by @amber.l.paris
