🍋 Lemons and an unexpected visitor 🦋 Botanical 2 group of the Artcollabfamily

For this "lemons" illustration challenge, I wanted to go beyond just the fruit and leaves, so I decided to add a touch of wildlife. My initial plan was to paint a Papilio machaon, but watercolor always has a mind of its own! While trying to build up contrast and depth, the layers took me down a completely different path.
In the end, it turned into a beautiful, fantasy-like hybrid butterfly. Its deep, warm tones actually make the yellow of the lemon pop so much more!

What do you think of how it turned out? Do you prefer pure botanical pieces, or do you like adding a little bit of fauna to the mix?
