Especially to my moms: stop shrinking yourself just to make other adults comfortable.

People will gossip. They’ll judge. They’ll create their own version of you. Let them.

You don’t have to defend yourself in every room. You don’t have to prove shit to anybody. And you damn sure don’t have to make yourself smaller because someone else wants you to feel unwelcome.

Walk in that bitch like you belong there because you do.

Be a good person. Handle your business. Take care of your babies. Keep becoming the woman you’re proud of.
